Comunidad Latinx Graduación Ceremony is a unique celebration that honors the achievements of Latiné graduates at UC Santa Barbara. Unlike the official university commencement, CLG is a bilingual event conducted in Spanish and English. Participants are gifted a special CLG sash, and the ceremony features vibrant cultural performances, such as mariachi, Danza Azteca, and other types of traditional entertainment. There are no guest limits, ensuring that family and friends can fully share in this joyous occasion.

CLG holds profound significance for the Chicanx/Latinx community, especially for the many first-generation college students it celebrates. Rooted in cultural pride, this ceremony reflects the importance of family and heritage by incorporating meaningful traditions. This heartfelt celebration is a testament to the resilience and accomplishments of Latiné students and their families, making it a cherished tradition at UCSB. CLG is now in its 51st year!
